The Mental Health Association in Tulsa presents
Oklahoma's 1st Peer Run Drop-In Center

DENVER HOUSE

Welcome to the Denver House

The Denver House is a place where adults experiencing the challenges of living with a mental illness or co-occurring disorder can come to learn and have fun. Our participants will have the opportunity to focus on developing new meaning and purpose in their lives in a warm, friendly, family atmosphere. The Denver House is a peer-run agency where all of the staff has experienced the difficulties of living with a mental illness in their own lives, giving them the ability to truly empathize with our participants. The Denver House is founded on the concept of individual empowerment in which guests pursue their own recovery to rebuild their lives through participant-run programs and the friendship, support and understanding of peers. All of the services at the Denver House are non-clinical and completely voluntary.

Our Goal

To provide a community-based outlet where participants can learn different methods of living a satisfying, hopeful, and contributing lives, where the focus is not simply on treating symptoms.

Our Mission

To provide a safe, supportive community where people can socialize, relax, and participate in their own growth and development, and find encouragement and hope.

Groups and Classes:

The groups and classes listed below have been chosen to set the program in motion. Although we plan to facilitate these events, we are in a continual state of modifying the groups and classes offered at the Denver House to the request of the participants in the program.

Socialization
The Socialization group will explore the basis and rationales for socializing and will offer effective and rewarding behavioral options. Those who participate in the group will brainstorm ways to earn stronger social reinforcement for themselves as well as how to connect with people as long-term resources.

Forgiveness & Reconciliation
This group will address how people can learn to decrease the pain and suffering in their lives by learning how to forgive the people they believe have wronged them as well as ways to rebuild positive relationships with them.
