Advocacy efforts at the Mental Health Association in Tulsa
come in many forms. We are here as an organization to promote
change and to enlist the help of individuals in our community
to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, and encourage
those who can to share their stories. Through education and
our work together, we strive to build understanding, reduce
stigma and improve the quality of life for those whose lives
are impacted by mental illness.
The Association maintains an attorney on-staff to serve as
a liaison with the court system and to help improve legal
resources and access to justice. Find out more about our Legal
Outreach program.
Access to medications and quality care, even if you have
insurance, can be difficult. In today’s age of budget
cuts and shortfalls, every voice counts. Stigma is also a
great obstacle we face. Learn how you can help in our section
on Grassroots and Community
Advocacy.
