GRASSROOTS AND COMMUNITY ADVOCACY

We Can, We Do, We Count, We Vote, We Matter!

Building lives through community and grassroots advocacy makes a difference in the lives of all those affected by a mental illness.

As an advocate, you act on behalf of all those affected by mental illness. By representing the interests of people living with mental illnesses and their family and friends, you make mental illness a top state and national priority. Advocates are change agents making it possible to remove stigma, address unmet needs and barriers to care, provide prevention and early detection mechanisms, insure treatment advances are available to all, fight discrimination, and embrace the hope of recovery.

The Mental Health Association in Tulsa is dedicated to promoting mental health, preventing mental disorders and achieving victory over mental illness. Advocacy is at the very heart of this mission and through our advocacy efforts issues such as children’s mental health, state mental health parity, advanced directives, Medicaid access, community awareness, coalition building, and law enforcement training have become priorities. We are always working to improve the lives of those suffering from mental illness.

Much more needs to be done and your help is needed.. Become a Mental Health Advocate today and have a positive impact on mental health issues. By signing up as an advocate, you will receive regular updates and important information about issues affecting those impacted by mental illness.
