Legal Outreach
Legal Outreach is a project housed at the Mental Health Association.
Generated by a shared vision of the Mental Health Association,
Resonance, the YWCA, and the Tulsa County government, this
project continues its mission to enhance legal resources and
to identify, evaluate, and diminish systemic barriers to access
to justice for targeted disadvantaged populations.
Caroline Abbott, the Legal Outreach Coordinator, is a licensed
attorney in good standing with the Oklahoma State Bar Association.
She participates in an array of collaborative efforts, locally
and state-wide, regarding interaction of the law with homeless
individuals; women in transition; incarcerated persons; ethnic,
racial, and religious minorities; and persons with physical
and/or mental disabilities.
Although the Coordinator’s primary focus is on system-wide
improvement of justice for these identified persons, she also
counsels with and advocates for individuals and groups on
such issues as access to justice, guardianships, legal and
related resources, healthcare directives, and similar topics.
